Kristina Egan

Kristina Egan leads an agency that serves 30 cities and towns, helping them save money through collaboration and building shared and sustainable prosperity for the Greater Portland and Lakes region.  The Council also allocates federal funding for regional road and public transportation projects, the clean-up of industrial properties, develops the long-term plan for the region’s transportation infrastructure and runs the statewide Maine Clean Communities program promoting electric vehicles and clean fuel and energy. 

Before joining GPCOG, Kristina served as a town councilor in Freeport, Maine for almost five years. She also served as the Director of Transportation for Massachusetts and  as the Director of the South Coast Rail project, a $2 billion passenger rail extension. 

Kristina holds a M.A. in International Economics and International Relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and a B.A from Wesleyan University.
