John Gardner
John Gardner retired after 34 years as a mechanical engineering professor, first at Penn State then at Boise State University. He is principal/owner of Gardner Energy Strategies, LLC, focusing on sustainability, energy transitions and engineering education.
His research in the applications of control system theory spans a broad range of fields from robotics to artificial hearts to smart grids. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed research publications, 3 textbooks, co-inventor of 3 US Patents and appeared in the TEDxBoise conference in 2019. He is a registered professional engineer in the states of Maine and Idaho and a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
